Chris Shen's "Phase Space₃₆₀" project explores the particle physics concept from artistic perspective. Phase Space₃₆₀ is part of the group exhibition Vertiginous Data at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul. It was on display at MMCA Seoul Gallery 3 from 23rd of March 2019 until the 28th July 2019.
360 motorised spheres roll on a large surface, the movement being randomized by the physical quality of spheres, the environment and the odds of each component colliding with each other.
I was responsible for implementing the OpenCV computer vision based system which tracks the balls in realtime, rendering their trails as they reveal the live video feed only where there's movement.
